Must know
  • Where. Teams are named groups inside one program, set up in the Teams section above the roster on the program’s Athletes tab.
  • Coaches place athletes. They do it from the session roster in the coach portal, for every session or for this session only.
  • Permission. Managing teams and moving athletes needs Manage Program Participants.
  • Deleting a team. Its athletes become Unassigned. They stay in the program, and their attendance and evaluations are not affected.
Where to find it. Go to Registrations > Programs, open the program and select the Athletes tab. The Teams section sits above the roster and lists each team with the number of athletes on it, and its coach if it has one. Until you add a team, it reads “No teams yet. Create one to start splitting this program’s athletes.”
1

Create a team

Type a name into New team name and click Add team. Names must be unique in the program, ignoring capitals: a duplicate shows “That name is already used in this program.”
2

Rename a team

Click Rename on the team’s row, edit the name, then click Save, or Cancel to keep it. Only the name changes; nobody moves.
3

Delete a team

Click the trash icon on the team’s row. Uplifter asks “Delete [team name]?” and says how many athletes are on it and that they will become Unassigned. Confirm with Delete team.
Who can change teams. Adding, renaming and deleting teams, and moving athletes between them, all need the Manage Program Participants permission. Without it, staff still see the teams and their athlete counts, but not Rename, the trash icon or Add team, and coaches can’t change an athlete’s group. How coaches place athletes. Athletes are placed from the session roster in the coach portal, where teams are called groups. A coach picks a group from the menu beside an athlete’s name, and Uplifter asks “Move [athlete] to [team]?”:
  • Move on every session moves them on every session of this program, now and in future.
  • This session only seats them with that group for the current session and leaves their usual team unchanged. The roster tags them This session only, with a Back to [group] link to undo it.
Coaches with the permission can also add groups from the session roster, and those show up here as teams. Season rollover. When a season rolls over, the new season’s copy of the program gets the same teams, empty, so coaches place athletes again.
