  • Reload brings your chat back. Reloading the page or opening a new tab restores the chat you were last using (per club, in this browser only). Click New chat to start fresh.
  • 50 chats, only yours. Recent chats lists your 50 most recent chats in this club, newest first. Only you can see your chats.
  • Delete has a short Undo. You can undo for about 6 seconds. After that the chat and its messages are gone for good.
  • Expand goes full page. Expand moves the same chat to full-page Hero on Dashboard > Home, where the Ask Hero card also shows up to three recent chats.
Where the controls are. The panel header has + (New chat), the chat title (opens Recent chats), Expand and a close button. Full page adds a pencil New chat button and Close Hero. Stop is in the message box and Retry in the conversation. For the views, see What is Ask Hero and where do I find it?

Start, reopen, rename or delete a chat

Start a new chat

Click + in the header. A chat is saved, and appears in Recent chats, only after you send your first message. Its title is that message word for word, cut at 60 characters.

Reopen a past chat

Click the chat title, then pick a chat. Rows show the title (Untitled chat if none) and when it was last used. With none saved, the menu says No chats yet. On Dashboard > Home, click one of the Recent chats: buttons to reopen it full page.

Rename a chat

In Recent chats, hover over a row (or tab to it) and click the pencil. Type a name (up to 200 characters), then press Enter or click Save name. Esc or Cancel rename keeps the old title, and so does a blank name.

Delete a chat

Hover over the row and click the trash can. A Chat deleted message appears with Undo for about 6 seconds. After that the chat is gone for good. If the delete fails, the chat comes back with Chat could not be deleted. Deleting your open chat starts a new one.
On phones and tablets. Hero is a bottom panel with the same header. Rename and delete only show on hover or keyboard focus, so they are hard to find on touch. Switching chats. Starting or opening a chat ends a reply Hero is still writing. If a chat cannot open, you see Couldn’t load that chat.

Stop, retry and long chats

  • Stop a reply. While Hero writes, Send becomes Stop. When Hero works through several steps, an Auto-continuing… line has its own Stop button. It runs a limited number of extra steps per message you send and only prepares the next confirmation. You still confirm each change.
  • Retry. If a reply fails (“Hero hit a snag - try again in a moment.” or “Something went wrong. Please try again.”), click Retry to resend your last message.
  • New messages. Scrolled up in a long chat, you get a New messages button instead of being jumped down.
  • Reopened chats. Confirmations still show: done ones as done, waiting ones can be confirmed until they expire. A very long chat may not reload in full, and Hero works from the most recent part of it.
Good to know. Deleting your staff account deletes its chats. Turning Ask Hero off keeps chats, but you cannot open them until it is back on.
