Must know
  • Athletes > Families needs the View Families permission. Without it the sidebar item is hidden, and a direct link to the page shows “Your account does not have access to the family directory.”
  • Use the Needs attention filter to find families with Open requirements or Pending invitations.
  • A family’s page shows its family tree, who has shared access, any missing requirements, and the family’s answers to your Family questions.
  • Staff can view families here, but family membership is changed by the family itself.
What it is. Athletes > Families lists every family with an athlete at your club. The header reads Families, “See each athlete’s family, relationships, and access.”

Select a row or card. The family’s page opens.
The columns. Family, Guardians, Athletes, Requirements (missing requirements still open at your club, such as “2 open”), Invites (invitations the family sent that are still waiting, such as “1 pending”) and Created. Sort by Family or Created. On a family’s page. The header shows the family’s name, with a Families link back to the list.
  • Family tree. Everyone in the family, with person and athlete counts. Switch between Tree, a diagram you drag to explore, and People, a list. Select a person to see their relationships and access, and use View athlete profile or View guardian record to open their record.
  • Shared access. People outside the household who can access one of the family’s athletes, with View all permissions for each. For staff the card reads “Shared access can be updated from the family owner’s guardian portal.”
  • Missing requirements. Always shown to staff: each unmet family requirement and who is missing it, or “No missing requirements. Every family requirement is met at this club.”
  • Family passes and punch cards. What the family holds at your club.
  • Athlete charges. Recorded purchases at your club, shown only to staff with View Financials.
  • Family questions. The family’s answers to your club’s family-level custom questions, when your club asks any. Staff with Edit Families can select Answer questions or Update answers.
Other ways in. An athlete’s Overview tab has a Family section with Open family, plus a switcher when the athlete is in more than one family. On Athletes > Directory, the Family column links each family. A missing-requirement alert links to the family with Open the family. Old links to the family requirements page open this directory. What staff can’t change. Staff get no buttons here to add or remove members, add relationships, rename the family or change shared access. The family’s owner or a co-manager does that in the family portal. An athlete’s edit panel has no guardian field either. Its Family access box links to Review family connections. Coaches. Coaches at your club have their own Families page in the coach portal. It lists the same families and doesn’t need View Families.
