Must know
  • Uplifter’s team moves your club for you, from a backup of your Uplifter 1.0 site. You don’t export anything, and your Uplifter 1.0 site keeps running while you prepare. Uplifter retires it after you go live and confirm your new site.
  • A preview import sets up your data for review, with member emails and texts paused and no balances, invoices or saved cards carried over. The final import, Import and go live, brings everything over and turns member emails on. Your monthly program registrations are set up to bill from the first preview, so plan the preview window with Uplifter’s team.
  • Your new site can’t be published during a preview, and after the final import it still needs your payment setup finished.
  • Anything you add in Uplifter 1.0 after the backup date isn’t included until Uplifter runs the import again. A re-run doesn’t update most records already brought over, so make fixes in the new Uplifter.
A note on names. These pages call it the new Uplifter. Who does what. Uplifter’s team runs the move from a backup of your Uplifter 1.0 site, not from exports or spreadsheets. Your admin dashboard has no import screen. Your part is to review your data, make a few decisions, and agree when to go live. Uplifter’s team agrees the preview and go-live dates with you. To reach them, select Support at the bottom of the admin dashboard sidebar: see How do I contact Uplifter support? Your new club comes first. Nothing is imported until your club exists in the new Uplifter. Either you sign up, or Uplifter creates the club and invites you as its first administrator (the link lasts 7 days): see Uplifter set up my club for me: how do I get in?

Review your Uplifter 1.0 data with Uplifter

Before the preview, Uplifter goes through a report of your Uplifter 1.0 data with you: what comes over in each area, and anything the import can’t carry exactly or had to guess, so you can decide each one. See How do we get ready to move from Uplifter 1.0?
2

Preview import

Uplifter runs a Preview import so you can check your data in the admin dashboard.
  • Finish setup first. Until it’s finished, signing in opens the setup steps. Select Continue on Brand your site (your imported logo and colors are filled in) and Set up your homepage (if Your gym’s details appears in between, fill it in or select I’ll add this later), then Go to my dashboard on the go-live checklist. Payments and publishing can wait.
  • What pauses. Member emails and texts are paused, a Preview import mode banner shows, and your site can’t be published yet.
  • What comes later. Balances, invoices and saved cards come over only with the final import.
  • Billing starts now. Monthly registrations are already set up to bill, so plan the preview window with Uplifter’s team: see What is a preview import, and what changes when we go live?

Import and go live

When you’re ready, Uplifter runs Import and go live. It brings everything over, including balances, invoice history, gift certificates and, if your Uplifter 1.0 site already took card payments through Uplifter’s payment provider, saved cards. Member emails turn on once it finishes, and saved cards attach to your monthly registrations, which bill on your billing day.
4

Finish payments and publish

Finish your payment setup, then publish. Publishing needs your final import done and your payment setup finished: see Do we need to set up payments again after the move?
5

Your new site takes over

Once you publish, your club’s card in the Find your club directory points to your new site. After a completed final import, Uplifter retires your Uplifter 1.0 site once you confirm the new one. See What happens to our web address and our Uplifter 1.0 site?
Running the import again. A re-run brings over what was added in Uplifter 1.0 after the backup date. It doesn’t update most records already brought over, so fix those in the new Uplifter. It does refresh some details from Uplifter 1.0, such as program dates, schedules and prices and store item prices and stock, so check those. Coming from another system? Other systems and spreadsheets follow a different path: see We’re coming from another system: how do we get our data in? Start here.
