Must know
- You choose before it saves. When families hold a pass, changing it between unlimited and credits, or changing its credit count, asks what current holders get: the change now, or their current setting until their pass renews.
- New buyers get the new setting from today either way.
- One choice lasts past renewal. If you pick Only new purchases get the new count, current holders keep their old count at every renewal, until they buy the pass again.
1
Open the pass
Go to Settings > Registration > Passes and click the pass’s row or card. On the Details tab, a note under Pass Type says “[N] families hold this pass. Changing its type or credits will ask what they get.” (with one holder, “1 family holds this pass.”).
2
Change the type or credits and save
Switch Pass Type between Unlimited pass and Credit pass (limited uses), or change Credits, then click Save Changes. If no family holds the pass, it saves straight away.
3
Choose what current holders get
A dialog opens, titled Switching [pass name] to credits, Switching [pass name] to unlimited or Changing the credits on [pass name], with two cards. Choose one and click Continue. Go back closes it without saving.
How the difference works. It’s measured from each holder’s own allocation: going from 10 to 8 credits takes a holder with 4 left to 2.
“Until renewal” means each family’s own next renewal, not one shared date. Until then, a holding left on credits keeps spending them and one left unlimited registers without using credits. At renewal it switches to the pass as it is sold that day. A one-time pass never renews, so a kept setting lasts for the life of the holding.
What you see afterwards. The Family holdings tab always shows a Credits column (“Unlimited” or remaining / allocated), because a holding can differ from the pass.
A credit pass needs at least 1 credit. The Credits field won’t accept less than 1, so the save stops before any holder question.
Price changes don’t open this dialog. A new Price applies to new purchases only. Current recurring holders keep the price they bought at (How do I edit or delete a pass?).
