Must know
- Hero uses the same permissions as the dashboard. Creating invoices needs the financials permission, changing enrollment needs the athletes-edit permission, and sending a campaign needs the communication-send permission.
- A staff member without a permission simply doesn’t get that capability. Lookups they can’t access return a “you don’t have access” message instead of data.
- Permission is checked again when you confirm a card — not only when Hero proposes it — so a grant that was revoked in between blocks the action at the last step.
- Attaching and analyzing files requires the settings-edit permission. Staff without it won’t see the paperclip or the drag-and-drop area.
Why capabilities differ
Because each capability is tied to a permission, two staff members can see very different versions of Hero:- A front-desk user might look up athletes and mark attendance but not touch invoices.
- A finance admin can prepare invoices and record payments.
- Someone with communication access can draft and send campaigns; someone without it can’t.
