Must know
  • Available on plans that include Time Tracking — if you don’t see these pages, ask your Uplifter contact.
  • Configuring work types and the Pay Rates page requires the Manage Time Tracking permission. A member’s hourly rate also shows on the Employment tab of their staff profile, where anyone who can view or edit staff can see and change it — so it isn’t limited to admins.
  • One work type can be the Default for Programs and one the Fallback — the pair Uplifter uses to auto-pick a type when someone clocks in.
Work types classify how time is spent (coaching, front desk, cleaning, breaks), and pay rates set what each person earns.
1

Create work types

Go to Settings → Time Tracking → Work Types and click New Work Type. Set a Name, a Type of Work or Break, and the Paid toggle. Optionally set a Max duration (minutes) cap and keep it Active. For Work types you can also flag Default for Programs (auto-selected when clocking into a program) and Fallback (used when no program matches) — only one type can hold each.
2

Set employee pay rates

Go to Settings → Time Tracking → Pay Rates, search for a member, and click the Edit (pencil) button on their row to open the Edit Pay Rate dialog and set their hourly rate. Rates are per employee and drive the pay figures on timesheets.
Pay-period, overtime, and rounding rules are configured separately — see the related article. Related: Configure pay periods, overtime, and rounding · How do staff clock in and out? · Review and approve timesheets
