  • Plan and permission. The Custom domain card on Settings > Website > General appears only when your plan includes Custom Domains (off by default). Only staff with Edit Settings can claim, promote or remove a domain.
  • Copy the table. Type your www address, click Claim, then copy every record from the table into your registrar: the TXT records first, then the CNAME.
  • Two addresses at most. The first is your main (Primary) address. A second one redirects to it.
  • Your Uplifter address stays. If you remove your main custom domain, your site goes back to your Uplifter subdomain right away, and visitors typing the custom address stop reaching it.
Before you start. No Custom domain card means your plan doesn’t include Custom Domains, so contact Uplifter support. Staff without Edit Settings can see the card but can’t change anything. Use your www address, such as www.yourclub.com.

Claim your domain

Type your address

Go to Settings > Website > General. In the Custom domain card, type your address in Your web address and click Claim. It saves right away, so you don’t need Save Changes.

Add the TXT records

Within a minute, the table lists your records (Type, Name, Value, Status) with copy buttons. First, add each TXT record at your registrar (where you bought the domain), so your certificate is issued while your current site keeps serving visitors. If your registrar wants the name without your domain on the end, use the Host only value.

Add the CNAME

Then add the CNAME, which moves visitors to your Uplifter site. Its value is usually domains.uplifter.app, but copy it from your table.

Watch it go live

Each record shows Found, Waiting or Problem, and the page refreshes on its own. When the row reads Your domain is live, you’re done.
Bare domain. Most registrars won’t accept a CNAME on a bare domain like yourclub.com. Use an ALIAS or ANAME record for the CNAME row if offered, or forward the bare domain to your www address at your registrar and claim that instead. If Claim is refused. A message under the field says why, such as “That address is already connected to another Uplifter site.”

What the statuses mean

Time limits. Setup stops if Uplifter doesn’t see your DNS change within 7 days of your claim, or can’t issue the certificate within 24 hours. A CAA record, if you have one, must allow Let’s Encrypt and Google Trust Services. Start over. Check that the records match your registrar exactly. Then click Try again and Disconnect and start over. The address disconnects now and goes back into the form. After a few minutes of clearing, click Claim again. If a live domain stopped serving, use the Contact support link on its row. Later problems. If a live domain breaks, for example because its CNAME was removed, its row moves back to an earlier step or to This domain needs attention.

Add a second address

Redirects. Once your main address is live, claim a second one under Add another address. It’s added as a redirect that forwards visitors to your main address. Swap the main address. On a live redirect, click Make this the main address. The swap happens at once with no confirmation, and the old main address becomes the redirect.

Remove a domain

Remove. Click Remove on the row, then Remove domain. Removing your main address sends your site back to your Uplifter subdomain right away, and visitors typing that address stop reaching it. Remove any redirect first (“Remove your redirect addresses first.”). Afterwards, delete the domain’s records at your registrar.

What families can do on your domain

Families. Families can sign in, register and check out on your domain. If your CNAME points to Uplifter before the domain is live, visitors see “This domain isn’t connected yet”.
