Must know
  • Available on plans that include Store — if you don’t see it, ask your Uplifter contact.
  • Once a product has variants, the variants own the stock — the product’s overall inventory field is cleared.
  • A variant with no price falls back to the product’s Base Price.
  • Each variant carries its own price override, image, and inventory count.
Variants let one product sell in several forms — for example a leotard in Small, Medium, and Large — without creating a separate product for each.
1

Turn on Product Type

Click Add Product to open the Add New Product dialog (or open an existing product’s Edit Product dialog), then switch on Product Type (“Enable to add options like sizes, colors, or fits”).
2

Name the type

Enter a Type Name, such as Size, Color, or Fit. This is the label buyers see when choosing an option.
3

Add each option

Under Options, fill in a Label (for example Red or Large). Optionally set a Price override for that option, a Max and Current inventory count, and a Variant Image. Leave both inventory fields blank for unlimited stock. Click Add Option to add more.
4

Save

Click Add Product or Save Changes. On the storefront the button reads Select [your type name] (for example Select Size) until the buyer picks an option, then it becomes Add to Cart — [price].
Because each variant tracks its own stock, restocking is done per option — see the inventory article. A variant left without a price simply charges the product’s base price. Related: How do I add products to my store? · How do I track and restock inventory?
