Must know
- One list. About 67 automatic emails (receipts, refunds, invitations, sign-in codes and more) are listed on the System Rules tab alongside the built-in notification rules.
- Yours to switch off or reword. Each can be switched off or reworded, with a preview. Switching one off means families (or your admins, for admin alerts) stop getting it.
- Links and codes stay. Emails that carry a sign-in code or an invitation or reset link cannot be saved without that link or code.
- Some always use Uplifter’s wording. That covers password resets and sign-in codes sent before Uplifter knows the person’s club.
Opening one. Choose Edit from the row’s menu (the three dots). The page shows the email’s name over Built-in notification, then a When this goes out card (Sent to, Fires when, and Status, such as “On. Switch it off from the notifications list.”), a Message card with Email subject and Email body, and What families receive, a preview labelled Sample with example details.
Rewording one. Edit the subject and body, then click Save wording (“Saved. New sends of this email will use your wording.”). The row then shows a Customized badge. Blocks like the summary table, action buttons and security codes are built by the platform: you can move or remove them, but their contents always match the real record.
Going back to the original. After you save your own wording, Reset to default appears; it asks you to confirm Reset to the original wording and cannot be undone. The full steps are in How do I edit or turn off a built-in notification?
Some can’t be saved without their link or code. Guardian invitation, Staff invitation, Invitation to someone who already has an account, Checkout account setup, Password reset, Two-factor code, Email login code and Signup verification code exist to deliver one. An edit that drops it fails with a message such as
"Password reset" cannot be saved without {{resetUrl}} - that is what the email exists to deliver.
Switching one off. Open the row’s menu and choose Disable, or Enable to turn it back on. Only that switch stops an email. Who receives each email is fixed: Sent to shows it, such as “The guardian the invoice is billed to”.
Nothing replaces a switched-off email. Switching off Chat message notification, for example, stops chat email to families: a Web & Email chat message to a family then fails with “Chat email notifications to families are switched off in Notifications settings.” Staff and coaches still get chat email. Switching off Checkout receipt also blocks Resend receipt on an invoice.
Some go out before Uplifter knows your club. Password resets requested from the sign-in page, sign-in codes and notices to an unknown email address are sent before Uplifter knows the person’s club. They always send, with Uplifter’s own wording, whatever you set. A reset you send with Send Password Reset on a staff member does follow your settings.
Some depend on a plan feature. Emails for event tickets, gift cards, program applications, drop-in waitlists and Ask Hero only matter when your club has that feature, and join your list once it does.
Checking what was sent. Most of these emails do not appear in Notification Logs at the bottom of the page; Invoice issued is the exception.
