Must know
  • Certifications live under Settings → Organization → Certifications and are not behind the Training plan gate.
  • A certification records a coach qualification with an evaluation method (Pass/Fail or Point Scale), score, expiry, and renewal period, and is granted per staff member.
  • If a certification is required for programs or events, a staff member who doesn’t hold it (granted, passed, and unexpired) can’t be assigned at the program or event level — uncertified staff are unavailable in those assignment pickers. The one exception is a single session: on the Edit session dialog you can still assign an uncertified coach for that one occurrence, where they’re flagged rather than blocked. The Competitions requirement flag can be set, but there’s no staff-assignment step on competitions for it to enforce today.
Track qualifications like CPR / First Aid or safety certifications, and optionally require them before staff can be assigned.
1

Define a certification

Go to Settings → Organization → Certifications and click Add Certification. Set a Name and Description, an Evaluation Method (Pass/Fail or Point Scale with min/max and a pass threshold), and a Renewal Period. Under Required For (Scopes), flag any of Coaching Programs, Events, or Competitions. Program and event assignment then require the certification; the Competitions flag is recorded but isn’t enforced yet.
2

Grant it to a staff member

Open a staff member’s profile and go to the Certifications tab. Choose Grant (or Re-grant), record the Result or Score, the Granted Date, and optional Notes — expiry is calculated automatically from the certification’s renewal period, not entered by hand. Use Revoke to remove it.
When a required certification is missing, expired, or not passed, Uplifter blocks the assignment at the program and event level until it’s granted — so keep renewals current. A single session is the exception: from its Edit session dialog you can assign an uncertified coach for that one occurrence, where they’re flagged instead of blocked.
