Must know
  • Canada only. Uplifter adds sales tax to its subscription invoices for clubs in Canada, based on your club’s province. Clubs in the US are not taxed.
  • Plan prices are shown before tax. A price marked “plus applicable tax” is the pre-tax price. What you’re charged includes the tax.
  • Billing history shows the tax in its own column. The Tax column is already part of what you were billed, not an extra charge on top of Amount.
What this tax is. It’s Uplifter’s sales tax on what your club pays Uplifter, not the tax your club charges families. Which tax, and how much. The tax and rate follow your club’s province or territory: Manitoba’s retail sales tax is never charged on your Uplifter bill. Where your province comes from. Uplifter uses the province in your club’s address, shown on the Contact Information card at Settings > Organization > Overview (select Edit at the top of that page, then change Province). Each new invoice uses the province on file and the rate in force on the day it’s issued. Invoices already issued don’t change. Where you’ll see it. What gets taxed. Every subscription charge: plan renewals, upgrade charges, the monthly platform fee on paid transactions (on plans that carry one) and Ask Hero usage overage. A referral credit month that covers a monthly renewal covers that invoice’s tax too.
