Must know
  • A shift is an employee plus a free-text Shift Type / Role, a date, a start and end time, and an optional Location.
  • There’s no conflict checking — Uplifter will let you double-book a person, or schedule them outside their availability or the facility’s hours.
  • No notification is sent to staff when a shift is created or changed, so share the schedule your usual way.
Shifts let you plan who is working, where, and when.
1

Open the schedule

From the dashboard, open My Organization → Schedules (the page is headed Schedules & Availability) and stay on the Shifts & Assignments tab. Toggle between List View and Calendar View with the button in the header.
2

Create the shift

Click Create Shift, then work down the sheet in order: choose the Employee, enter a Shift Type / Role (free text, such as “Opening Manager” or “Coach”), pick the Date, set a Start Time and End Time, optionally choose a Location, and add Notes if useful. Click Create Shift to save.
3

Edit or remove a shift

Use a shift’s Actions menu to Edit Shift or delete it.
To capture each person’s standard weekly hours, set their availability — see Set staff weekly availability. Related: Set staff weekly availability · How do staff clock in and out?
