Must know
  • Families see an award only after it is published. Publishing needs the Publish Achievements permission and cannot be undone.
  • To take an award back, revoke it on the athlete’s Achievements tab. Revoking does not remove levels or badges the award already granted.
  • Awarding by hand needs the Record Evaluations permission, and the Achievements tab appears only on plans that include Training.
Who can do what. Record Evaluations covers awarding, changing a date, and revoking. Admin and Coach have it by default. Only Admin has Publish Achievements (“Make achievement awards visible to families”) by default. Grant it under Coaching to let another role publish.
1

Open the athlete's Achievements tab

Go to Athletes > Directory, open the athlete, and choose the Achievements tab.
2

Award the achievement

Click Award achievement, pick the Achievement, and set Awarded on (leave it empty for today). Publishers also see Publish to the family now (“Leave this off to record the award and publish it later. Publishing cannot be undone.”). Click Award achievement.
3

Publish it, if it is waiting

Each award shows Awarded [date], and Awarded by [name] when someone gave it by hand. A waiting one carries an Awaiting publish label. Open its menu and choose Publish to family. The confirm reads “[athlete]‘s family will see it straight away. Publishing cannot be undone - to take the award back, revoke it instead.”
Award many at once. Go to Settings > Training > Achievements, open the achievement, and click Award to athletes (“Record [achievement] for several athletes at once.”). Choose up to 200 Athletes, set Awarded on, and, if you can publish, turn on Publish to the families now. An athlete who already holds it is reported back, not awarded twice. Clear the publish queue. New awards wait in Awaiting publish unless the achievement has Publish awards automatically on. A waiting award doesn’t satisfy requirements that ask for it. Publishers see an Awaiting publish tab on the Achievements page (every waiting award, with Publish and Publish all of these) and on each achievement’s page (Publish all ([count])). Home shows them an Achievements Awaiting Publish card too. Change a date or revoke. An award’s menu has Edit award date and Revoke achievement. Revoking removes the award and records it in history. Levels and badges it granted stay, and it won’t be re-awarded automatically until someone awards it by hand again. Revoked achievements ([count]) shows who revoked each one. Badges have no publish step. Under Badges on the same tab, Award badge gives one directly and the family sees it right away. Each badge’s menu has Edit award date and Remove badge. Removing a badge doesn’t touch the achievement that granted it. Levels that require an achievement. A level with Required achievements set can’t be granted until the athlete holds all of them (published only), unless staff override at “Grant it anyway?”, which is recorded. Awards from evaluations. Coaches can award achievements and badges while submitting evaluations, and the save message confirms what was awarded. See Award an achievement or badge (coach).
