Must know
  • Available on plans that include Competitions (off by default).
  • Save as Draft is the default. Schedule Go-Live only records a date: nothing publishes it automatically, so switch it to Live yourself. A Live competition can’t go back to Draft.
  • Pricing and the GL code can’t be changed after you click Create Competition, so check the Pricing step first.
  • You can only delete a competition while it is a Draft.
Where to find it. Go to Registrations > Competitions and click Add Competition (on an empty list, Create your first competition). You need the Create Events permission.

Season

Optional. Shows only when seasons are on and your club has a season, but the list offers only None and Active seasons.

General

On Competition Details, enter the Competition Name, Competition Type and Location: pick a facility under Select a Facility (optional), or choose Enter address manually and fill in every address field. Dates & Times default to 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Next is blocked until the name, type and both dates are set. Copy from Existing copies another competition’s venue, dates, categories, requirements, pricing and registration settings, drops expired memberships and resets publishing to Save as Draft.

Categories

Choose Use All Eligible Categories or Pick Specific Categories. All saves the categories eligible today; ones you add later are not included. Specific shows an event-by-age-group grid with Select All and Clear All. See Set up competition categories and events.

Restrictions

On Requirements & Restrictions, switch on the rules you want, such as Achievement Requirement (needs Training and at least one achievement), Capacity Limit or Membership Requirement (needs Memberships). Level, achievement and membership rules can require all selections. Switching a rule off keeps its selections. Capacity counts event entries (one per athlete per event), not athletes. Results

Under Seed Marks (Registration), choose which events require a seed mark. The Record Results (Post-Competition) ticks are not saved: you can record results for any event. See What are seed marks?.

Pricing

Pick a pricing mode and a GL code (revenue codes only, with your default competition code pre-selected). See How do I price a competition?.

Registration

On Registration Window, choose Open Registration Now (default) or Schedule Registration (Open Date no later than the first day). Registration Closes defaults to the competition end date. An Early Access Code lets athletes register before the window opens, but the competition must still be Live and not full.

Confirmation

On Confirmation & Publishing, choose Go Live Now, Save as Draft or Schedule Go-Live (a Go-Live Date is required). Click Create Competition to save and return to the list.
After you create it. Open the competition and click Settings to edit it (Edit Events permission). The Pricing tab does not save changes, and there is no season field: to change the season, go to Settings > Registration > Seasons, open the season, then Competitions > Add Competition. Once Live, Publishing offers only Live, Closed and Completed. Purchase conditions are on the Overview tab, and Entry conditions on each event page. See How do I edit a competition after it’s created?. Deleting. Click the trash icon on the Competitions list. It works only for Drafts and needs the Delete Events permission.
