Must know
  • Downgrades, lateral moves, and moves to Free are scheduled for your renewal date — you keep your current plan until then, and there’s no immediate refund.
  • You can’t switch to a plan whose limits are below your current usage (athletes, users, programs, events, storage, membership types). Reduce usage first.
  • During a free trial, downgrading to Free ends the trial immediately instead of scheduling.
Unlike upgrades, a move to a cheaper or equivalent plan doesn’t happen right away — it’s queued for when your current period ends, so you get everything you’ve already paid for.
1

Open Change Plan

Go to Settings → Billing & Usage → Subscription Billing and click Change Plan.
2

Select the lower plan

Pick the plan (or Free) in the Change Subscription Plan dialog. If your usage exceeds the new plan’s limits, you’ll see a “Cannot switch to this plan” warning listing what’s over — trim it down first, then try again. Archived membership types don’t count toward your membership-types usage, so archiving unused ones is one way to get back under that limit.
3

Confirm the schedule

Click Confirm Change. You’ll see a message that the change is scheduled for your renewal date, and that you keep your current plan until then.
After confirming, a Scheduled to change to … banner appears on your Current Plan card so you always know a change is pending. Changed your mind before the date? You can undo it.
