Must know
  • Your address (subdomain) must be 3-63 characters of lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, and can’t start or end with a hyphen; reserved and inappropriate words are refused.
  • A green check does not hold the name for you: it is checked again when you click Create Organization.
  • You can change it later at Settings > Website > General (Uplifter Subdomain); the old address stops working right away, with no redirect.
  • Your own domain (for example yourclub.com) is available only when your plan includes Custom Domains.
During the Organization step of signup, the Your Website card asks you to choose your club’s web address, for example your-club.uplifter.app. It must not already be in use by another club.

Type your subdomain

Enter your club’s name in the Subdomain field. Uplifter lowercases it, turns spaces into hyphens, and strips unsupported characters as you type. It must end up 3 to 63 characters of lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, and can’t start or end with a hyphen.

Wait for the availability check

Shortly after you stop typing, a spinner shows while Uplifter checks the name. A green check and “This subdomain is available!” means nobody else has it right now. A red X means it’s taken, reserved, contains inappropriate language, or breaks a formatting rule, with the exact reason printed under the field.

Finish and create your organization

Fill in the rest of the step and select Next, which stays disabled until your subdomain shows as available and every required field is filled in. Choose a plan on the Plan step, then select Create Organization on the review page. Uplifter checks the name again there, so if someone else claimed it in the meantime, it’s refused as taken.
Changing it later. Change your subdomain any time from Settings > Website > General, under Domain Settings, where the field is labeled Uplifter Subdomain. Saving a new one stops the old address working right away, with no redirect, so update anyone who had bookmarked or linked to it. Before your site is published, visiting your address shows “This website is not published yet. Please check back soon.”, and the admin sidebar’s link reads View web address until you publish, then View site. Prefer a domain you already own, like yourclub.com? A custom domain can be configured after initial setup in your dashboard settings, and stays alongside your built-in address. It’s available only on a plan that includes Custom Domains.
