Must know
  • It’s a plan feature. Event Ticketing is off by default. The Tickets step, the event’s Tickets and Check-in tabs and Settings > Ticketing appear only once it is on.
  • A Draft sells nothing. Only a Published, upcoming event with at least one active ticket type sells on your club website and at the point of sale.
  • Sold types lock. Once a ticket type has sold, its admission terms are locked. Price, sales window, inventory and purchase caps stay editable.
  • No discount codes. Tickets can’t take discount codes, and a gift card pays for them only if it is unrestricted.
Before you start. You need the Manage Tickets permission to add or change ticket types and ticket defaults.
1

Turn on ticket sales

In Registrations > Events, click Add Event. After Staff, the Tickets step appears: switch on This event sells tickets, then add Public listing artwork and any Required waivers (every ticket must have these signed before it can be scanned). For an existing event, use its Tickets tab and click New ticket type.
2

Add a ticket type

Click Add ticket type (on the Tickets tab, the New ticket type panel opens instead) and fill in each section:On the Tickets tab, finish with Create ticket type.
3

Save or publish

Click Save as draft or Create & publish. With ticket sales on, the event needs at least one ticket type. Later, Edit finishes with Save as draft or Save & publish. Publishing with no active ticket types warns that buyers will see nothing to purchase, but still publishes.
4

Show it on your club website

In Settings > Website > Pages, switch on the Events card (off by default) and click Save Changes. It lists Published, upcoming events with an active ticket type. Published ticketed events also appear on your club website calendar. See How do I choose which pages appear on my website?.
Starting values. A new type starts with unlimited inventory, 1 use per ticket, general admission, scan at the door, re-entry off, a named attendee required and scanning blocked until paid. Settings > Ticketing > Ticket Defaults changes the starting Default ticket-face image, Who can buy this, Block scanning until paid in full and Require a named attendee for new types only. Managing types later. The Tickets tab lists every type with its price, inventory and Sold count. Each row’s Actions menu offers Edit, Activate or Deactivate (stops new sales) and Delete (can’t be undone, and unavailable once a type has sold). Locked once sold. A type with sold tickets, or a purchase still settling, locks who can buy it, how it’s redeemed, re-entry, attendance, naming, paid-scan, validity, ages and custom fields. To change those, deactivate it and create a new type. Purchase conditions. Open an existing type to add Purchase conditions, such as an earlier purchase the buyer must already have. They only gate new sales. See How do I require an earlier purchase before someone can register?. The money. A sale posts to the ticket type’s GL code. If it has none, it posts to the event’s, and failing that to your club’s default Event GL code. If a type sells out while a payment is going through, seats that couldn’t be issued are refunded automatically. What buyers get. Online buyers get an email with a link to each ticket.
