Must know
  • Needs Time Tracking. This page is on plans that include Time Tracking, and you need the Manage Time Tracking permission.
  • Rounding is per day. It applies to each person’s total for the day when hours and pay are calculated. Clock-in and clock-out times are never rounded.
  • Overtime never stacks. The larger of the daily and weekly totals is paid at the multiplier. Weekly overtime is counted Monday to Sunday whatever your pay period.
  • Reminders and auto clock-out. No reminder is sent to staff who stay clocked in, even though Reminder after (hours) saves. Auto clock-out ends an open entry at exactly the limit (12 hours by default), so time past it is not paid.
1

Open the page

Go to Settings > Time Tracking > Time Tracking Settings. The page is headed Time Rules.
2

Set the pay period

Choose a Pay period type: Weekly, Bi-weekly, Semi-monthly or Monthly. The Anchor date only matters for Weekly and Bi-weekly, where periods run 7 or 14 days from it. Semi-monthly is always the 1st to the 15th and the 16th to month end. Monthly is always the calendar month.
3

Set overtime

Fill in Daily threshold (hours), Weekly threshold (hours) and Multiplier. Leave a threshold blank to turn that rule off. The multiplier can be 1 to 5. Anything below 1 is refused with “Overtime multiplier must be at least 1”. Paid breaks are paid at straight time and never count toward a threshold.
4

Set clock behavior

Set Auto clock-out after (hours), Reminder after (hours), Rounding and Require approval. Blank or 0 turns off auto clock-out and the reminder.
5

Save

Click Save Time Rules. You see “Time rules saved”.
Defaults for a new club. Bi-weekly periods anchored on Monday, January 1, 2024. Weekly overtime at 40 hours, no daily threshold, 1.5x multiplier, approval required, 12-hour auto clock-out, 10-hour reminder, no rounding. Timezone. This field is read-only here. Change it in Organization settings. Saving a new timezone there updates day and period boundaries to match. How rounding works. The Rounding choices are No rounding, 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes. Each person’s worked minutes for each day (in your club’s timezone) are added up, then rounded to the nearest increment when hours and pay are calculated. Recorded times are never changed. The work-type breakdown stays unrounded. Auto clock-out. Any open entry, work or break, that runs past the limit is closed. The entry ends at its clock-in time plus the limit, not when Uplifter closes it. A work type’s own maximum length is a separate cap. Require approval. When on, a timesheet must be submitted before a manager can approve it. When off, a manager can approve an open or reopened timesheet directly. Managers can never approve their own timesheet. Nothing else is blocked: time and payroll exports include every timesheet, approved or not. Audit trail. Every save is logged and appears in your Activity on your staff profile.
