Must know
  • Available on plans that include Bookings (defaults off) — if you don’t see it, ask your Uplifter contact.
  • The price is recomputed on the server at checkout — the amount shown in the browser is never trusted.
  • Bookings are non-discountable — they’re excluded from the discount engine, so promo codes and automatic discounts don’t apply.
How the price is calculated. A booking’s charge is its base price times the attendee count. A booking for one person is just the base price; an Open Registration booking for four attendees is the base price times four. A blank base price means a free booking. Uplifter always recalculates this on the server, so a tampered browser price can’t change what’s charged. When the reservation is created. Adding a slot to the cart doesn’t reserve anything. The reservation rows are created on payment, one per slot — under a lock that re-checks the slot is still open and within capacity. If the slot was taken in the meantime, the reservation isn’t created. Bookings and discounts. Bookings sit outside the discount engine, so they aren’t reduced by discount codes or automatic discounts. Required memberships in the cart. If a booking requires a membership that’s in the same cart, the two are linked. Removing that required membership from the cart cascade-removes the booking, so a member can’t check out with a booking that no longer has its required membership.
