Must know
  • Available on plans that include Waitlists — if you don’t see the Waitlist step, ask your Uplifter contact.
  • With Automatic Promotion on, the next person in line is enrolled and charged the moment a spot opens; with it off, nothing happens until you promote someone by hand.
  • Automatic promotion only fires when an existing enrollment is cancelled — not when you raise the program’s capacity.
  • For paid programs, automatic promotion charges the family’s saved card without asking them first.
Automatic Promotion decides whether Uplifter fills open spots for you or waits for you to do it.
1

Open the Waitlist tab

Go to Registrations → Programs and open the program’s settings — click the gear (Configure) icon on the program card, or open the program and click the Settings button. Click the Waitlist tab with Enable Waitlist on.
2

Turn on Automatic Promotion

Switch on Automatic Promotion (“Automatically promote the next person on the waitlist when a spot opens, in registration order”). Save the program.
With the toggle on, whenever an enrolled athlete’s spot is cancelled, the next person in join order is enrolled, charged their saved card, and notified — all automatically. With the toggle off, an open spot simply stays open. The waitlist keeps its order, and you decide who moves up and when from the Waitlist tab. Because auto-promotion charges cards without confirmation, use it for programs where families expect to pay the moment a spot opens. If you’d rather review each case, leave it off and promote manually. The full sequence of an automatic promotion is covered in the article below.
