Must know
  • Automatic promotion happens only if Automatic Promotion is turned on for that program; otherwise the spot stays open until you promote someone.
  • The next person in join order is charged their saved card and enrolled, then sent a “spot is available” notification.
  • If their card declines, they’re held with a 24-hour window rather than skipped.
When an athlete withdraws from a full program — or an admin removes them from it — Uplifter checks the waitlist for that program. If Automatic Promotion is on, the next athlete in join order (position #1) is promoted right away:
  1. Their saved card is charged for the program price (one period plus a subscription for recurring programs; free programs skip this).
  2. They’re enrolled into the program, taking the open spot.
  3. They receive a “spot is available / you’ve been enrolled” notification.
The family doesn’t have to do anything — the enrollment is complete once the charge clears. If the card declines, the athlete isn’t skipped. They’re held in a payment-pending state that reserves the spot for 24 hours, and the family is prompted to add a working card. Only if that window lapses does the spot free up again for the next person. If Automatic Promotion is off, none of this runs. The spot simply stays open, the waitlist keeps its order, and it’s up to you to promote someone from the Waitlist tab when you’re ready. A couple of things to note. Automatic promotion fires when an athlete withdraws or an admin removes them — not when you raise a program’s capacity, and not from a refund on its own. If you refund an enrollment without also removing the athlete from the program, or if you increase the capacity to make room, promote waiting athletes by hand.
