Must know
  • Families see their position in line, how many people are waiting, and an estimated wait time, and are told to keep the page open.
  • When they’re admitted they get a countdown — the Reservation Time you set (10 minutes by default) — to finish registering before their spot is released.
  • The line moves on its own: a background job runs every minute to expire lapsed reservations and admit the next families waiting.
When a queue is active, a family who opens registration lands in the waiting room instead of going straight to checkout. This is what they experience. While waiting. The room shows a large position number (“Your position in line”), a progress bar with the total number of people waiting, and an estimated wait in minutes. A note reminds them not to close the page, and the page refreshes on its own — they don’t need to reload. A Leave Queue button lets them step out if they change their mind. When it’s their turn. The screen switches to a “You’re In!” confirmation with a live countdown showing the time remaining to complete registration, plus a Continue to Registration button that drops them into the normal checkout flow. If the countdown runs out before they finish, the spot is released back to the line so the next family can take it. Keeping the line fair. Because reserved spots expire automatically once the countdown lapses, a family who wanders off doesn’t hold up everyone behind them — the room quietly admits the next people waiting, keeping the whole open first-come and steady.
