Must know
  • Signed in at your club’s checkout, type how much to use in Apply gift card balance. Checkout splits it across your cards, most restricted card first. Guests can’t use a gift card.
  • A card that can’t pay for this cart is listed only in the (i) popover, with the reason. Used-up and cancelled cards don’t appear.
  • Gift cards also pay an invoice you owe, and they combine with account credit.
  • If your gift cards cover the whole order, no card is charged and no service fee is added.

Enter an amount

In the checkout order summary, above account credit, type an amount in Apply gift card balance. It shows only if you hold a card for that club. The line under it reads like “50.00available⋅••1234"or"50.00 available · •• 1234" or "50.00 available · 1 of 2 cards”.

Check the summary

A green Gift cards row shows the amount taken off. If you type more than your cards can cover, fix the error under the field to continue.

Pay the rest

Click Continue. Your payment method covers the rest.
Good to know. You can change the amount only on the details step. It locks when you click Continue and resets to zero if you change your cart. When payment starts, the balance is held so it can’t be spent twice. If a balance changes meanwhile, the amount clears and you’re asked to review your cards. Cards that can’t be used. Click the (i) to see them under Unavailable with a reason, such as “Only valid for [what the card covers]”, “Claim this card first” or “Locked by the gym”. Balance held by an unfinished checkout shows as In another checkout and frees up on its own once that checkout finishes or expires.

What a card can pay for

  • Restricted card: programs, memberships, passes and store items, as its Spend on line lists. A card limited to one athlete pays for programs only when they are that athlete’s.
  • Unrestricted card (“Anything at [club name]”): all of that, plus punch cards, events, event tickets, competitions and bookings.
  • No card can buy another gift card.
Which card goes first. Your most restricted cards: cards limited to specific items, then cards limited by item type (fewest types first), then cards good for anything. Otherwise equal cards go oldest first.

Combining with other payments

  • Account credit. Gift cards apply first, then credit covers the rest. If either covers the order, the other field locks.
  • Full coverage. The payment form becomes “Your gift cards cover this order, so no payment is required.” and a Confirm registration button.
  • Payment plans. Gift cards reduce what’s due today. Entering an amount hides “Pay [club] directly”.

Pay an invoice you owe

In the family portal, open Invoices, then the invoice. Apply gift card balance sits above the payment form, next to Apply account credit. If your balance covers what’s left, one **Pay Xwithyourbalance∗∗buttonreplacesthecardform.Ifyousplitaninvoicebetweenyourbalanceandacard,thecardmustbechargedatleastX with your balance** button replaces the card form. If you split an invoice between your balance and a card, the card must be charged at least 1.00, or you see “Your card has to be charged at least 1.00.Applyalittleless,orapplythefull1.00. Apply a little less, or apply the full X.” Club staff can also charge an invoice to your gift cards.

Balances, refunds and transfers

Open Gift Cards (under More on a phone), then a card, to see the amount left, Spend on and Activity. Refunds. If the club refunds to the original payment method, the gift-card part returns to the same card first, then account credit, and only the rest goes to your card or bank. Otherwise the refund goes where the club chose. Cancelled cards. A club can cancel a card, which sets its balance to $0 for good and adds Cancelled to Activity. Otherwise cards don’t expire. A refund landing on a cancelled card reopens it locked until the club unlocks it. Transfer. Transfer gift card appears when the card can be transferred, is active and has a balance. Enter Recipient email, click Transfer gift card, then Confirm transfer.
