Must know
  • Requests show on your Family page. They wait under Waiting for a response, with Decline and Approve sharing.
  • Approving shares, it doesn’t reassign. Your athlete also joins the other family, and its guardians get access to the athlete’s shared information. Nobody becomes a co-guardian.
  • Any adult in the athlete’s family can answer: an owner, co-manager or guardian. If the athlete has their own account, only they can.
  • You need access first. Add athlete from another family lists only athletes you can already see, such as through Shared access. For a child you can’t see yet, ask their family’s owner or a co-manager to invite you.
Ask to add an athlete. In the family portal, open Family (on phones, under More) and choose the three-dot Family options button.
1

Open Add athlete from another family

Choose Add athlete from another family. It appears only when there’s an athlete you can add.
2

Choose the athlete

Pick them from Athlete. One marked (approval needed) needs someone in their family to say yes first.
3

Set the relationship

Unless it’s your own athlete profile, choose a Relationship (it starts on Child) and who it’s To.
4

Confirm and add

Tick I understand that the family’s guardians will have access to this athlete’s shared information. Then choose Add athlete.
What happens next. If you can approve for that athlete yourself, they join right away. You can when it’s your own athlete profile, or when you’re already an adult in their family and they don’t have their own account. Otherwise the request shows on your Family page as Awaiting approval, and asking again reuses the same request. Uplifter doesn’t email the other family, so let them know. Answer a request for your athlete. Open Family and find Waiting for a response. Each request shows only the athlete’s name and “Approval to join [family name]”, not who asked. Choose Approve sharing or Decline. What approving does. The athlete joins that family and stays in yours, and your own access doesn’t change. To reverse it later, ask that family’s owner or a co-manager to remove the athlete. Decline changes nothing. Older requests from your club. If your club asked earlier to add an athlete to your family, that request also waits here. Any adult in your family can answer it. Owners and co-managers also see “Your club asked to add an athlete” under Family activity. If it doesn’t go through. Invitations show here too. Waiting for a response also lists family invitations sent to you (Decline or Accept invitation) and, for owners and co-managers, the ones they sent (Revoke invitation). An invitation to join as an athlete asks you to tick a sharing agreement before Accept invitation works. To send one, see How do I invite someone to my family?.
