Must know
  • Owners and co-managers invite. Only the family owner or a co-manager can invite people, and only the owner can invite a co-manager. Guardians and athlete accounts can’t send invitations.
  • Nobody gets access until they accept. The invitation expires after 7 days, and only the invited email address can accept it.
  • There’s no resend button. If an invitation lapses, send a new one to the same address.
  • Guardians can access every athlete in the family. To share just one athlete, use Shared access instead.
What an invitation joins. A family invitation adds someone to your whole family, not to one athlete. Payment methods and private records stay with their owners. The three roles. Where to find it. In the family portal, open Family (on phones, under More). Owners and co-managers see Invite family member at the top of the page.

Start an invitation

Choose Invite family member. The Invite someone to your family dialog opens.

Enter their email and role

Enter their Email address and choose a Family role: Guardian, Co-manager (owner only) or Athlete account. The dialog explains what that role can access.

Confirm and create

Tick I understand this role’s access. Then choose Create invitation.
What happens next. You see Invitation sent, or Invitation ready with a link to copy and send yourself if email delivery was unavailable. Both say “They must accept before access begins.” Only the invited email address can accept the link. The rules. The invitation expires 7 days after you create it and can be accepted only once. It waits under Waiting for a response as “Family invitation. Access begins after acceptance.” Until it expires, you can cancel it with Revoke invitation. There’s no resend, so send a new one instead. If new family sharing is paused, you see “New family setup and sharing are temporarily paused.” The invitation email. The subject is “You have a family invitation on Uplifter”. It has a Review invitation button, says the invitation expires in seven days, and tells them their other families and athletes are never added automatically. What the invitee does. They must use the invited email. With an existing account, they choose Accept invitation or Decline on their own Family page, or open the email link and choose Join on my own or Merge a family I manage. Someone new to Uplifter accepts while creating their account. An Athlete account invitation needs an adult who already has their own athlete profile.
