Must know
  • Start from the person. Open the Family page and choose a person to change their role, remove them, or leave the family yourself.
  • Owner-only actions. Only the family owner can change roles, remove a co-manager or transfer ownership. The owner must transfer ownership before leaving a family that has other members.
  • Removal is immediate and family-wide. Removing someone ends their access through this family right away, for every athlete in it. Access through another family or Shared access stays.
  • Athletes need a family. An athlete can’t be removed from their last family.

Transfer ownership (family owner only)

On a guardian’s or co-manager’s panel, choose Transfer ownership, then Confirm change in Transfer family ownership?. They become the owner; you become a Co-manager.
3

Remove someone, or leave

On their panel, choose Remove from family, or Leave this family on your own panel. The confirmation warns: “This family access ends immediately. Access through other families or individual permissions stays in place. Purchases and payment responsibilities remain with their owners.” Choose Confirm change, or Keep as is. Removing an athlete also pauses any Shared access to that athlete given through this family: the Shared access card shows “Access paused until this athlete rejoins the family.”
The limits. While others remain, the owner’s panel has no Leave this family button: transfer ownership first. Removing an athlete from their last family shows “Add this athlete to another family before removing them from their last family.” An adult who is also registered as an athlete can still leave their only family. A removed adult with no other family gets a new one of their own. Bring someone back. There’s no undo: an owner or co-manager uses Invite family member to send a new invitation, which the person must accept. Rename your family. If you joined Uplifter before families existed, your access to an athlete may still come from your old guardian link, shown on the athlete’s page as Preserved athlete access with Open Family. The person who was the athlete’s main contact also sees Remove access, which ends only that old link. Review existing access on the Family page shows what changes, then switches your old guardian links to family access once you tick the confirmation and choose Confirm family access. Each other person reviews their own; your current access stays until then.
