Must know
  • When a family replies from their portal, it appears in your inbox live — the conversation list, the open thread, and the unread badge update on their own the moment it arrives.
  • The inbox only shows conversations for the organization you’re currently active in.
  • Opening a conversation marks it read, so its unread count clears right away.
The chat inbox is where you have one-on-one conversations with the families in your club. Open it from Chat in the coach portal to reach a two-pane layout. Left pane — Conversations. A scrollable list of your threads — conversations with unread messages first, then the rest by most recent activity. Each row shows the family member’s name, their organization, a preview of the last message, and how long ago it arrived. A conversation with unread replies stands out — a dot beside the name, the name in bold, a highlighted row, and a small count badge. Use the Search box to filter the list by name, email, or phone number, and the + button to start a new conversation. Right pane — the message thread. Select a conversation on the left and it opens on the right — messages you sent on one side, the family’s replies on the other, with the day shown between date breaks. Type in the box at the bottom to reply. On a narrow screen the panes stack, and a back arrow returns you to the list. When a family replies from their portal, it lands in your inbox live — the conversation list, the open thread, and the unread badge all update right away, with no manual reload. (If the connection ever drops, the inbox catches up on its own as soon as it reconnects.) As soon as you open a conversation, its unread badge clears both here and on the Chat item in your navigation.
