Must know
  • Close and Archive only change the thread’s status badge. The thread stays in your Conversations list, and nothing is deleted.
  • Any new message reopens a Closed or Archived thread, whether you send it, the family replies from the portal, by text, or by email, or you start the chat again.
  • The family is not told and never sees the status, and can still reply.
  • Each menu choice applies straight away, with no confirmation.
Where to find it. The three-dot menu is at the right of the thread header in Chat. On phones, the thread opens full-screen from the Chat tab at the bottom, with a back arrow at the left of the header and the same menu at the right. Which items you see. The menu depends on the thread’s status. You cannot close an archived thread directly. Unarchive it first.

Open the thread

Select the family’s conversation in the Conversations list, then select the three-dot menu.

Choose an item

A message confirms it: “Conversation closed”, “Conversation archived”, or “Conversation open” (for both Reopen and Unarchive). If it fails, you see “Failed to update conversation”.
What the status does. A Closed or Archived badge appears next to the family’s name in the open thread. Archive does not move the thread. Rows in the Conversations list carry no marker, so open a thread to see its badge. On phones only one badge shows, so Closed or Archived hides the Opted Out badge. The note about opted-out families still replaces the message box. You never need to reopen to message. The message box works on Closed and Archived threads. Sending a message sets the thread back to open, and so does a family reply from the portal, by text, or by email. Starting the chat again from New Conversation, an athlete profile, or the Families page does the same. What the family sees. Nothing. They are not notified when you close, archive, reopen, or unarchive, their portal does not show the status, and they can still reply. Whose chats you can change. Only your own conversations in the club you are signed in to, which are the only ones your Conversations list shows.
