# How do I claim a gift card that was sent to me?

> Open the claim link in your gift email — what happens signed in, signed out, and when a link is no longer active.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Gift Cards are available on plans that include **Gift Cards** — your **Gift Cards** page is always in the menu, so if a club doesn't offer them you simply won't hold any cards from that club.
  * Claiming is safe to repeat: opening your link again just shows the card. It never claims twice or splits the balance.
  * A gift card can only be spent at the club that issued it. Cards from different clubs are listed separately and never combine.
  * If the club issued the card to an email that already has an account, there's nothing to claim — it's already in your **Gift Cards** list.
</Note>

Look for the email from the club and tap **View your gift card**. The subject depends on how the card was sent — for example "\[sender] sent you a gift card to \[club]" when a sender name was given, "You've received a gift card to \[club]!" when there wasn't one, "Your \[club] gift card" for one you bought yourself, or "A gift card was added to your \[club] account" when the club issued it directly. Every version opens the same page, showing the card, who sent it, and their message.

## What you'll see

<Steps>
  <Step title="If you're already signed in">
    The card is added to your account automatically. The page confirms **It's in your account** — "Your gift card is ready to use at checkout at \[club]" — with buttons to **View my gift cards** and to shop at the club.
  </Step>

  <Step title="If you're signed out">
    You'll see the card plus a **Sign in to claim** button. Sign in with that email and you'll land back on the same page, where the card attaches straight away. (If you don't have an account yet, ask your club to invite you first, or sign in with a Google or Microsoft account that uses that email.)
  </Step>

  <Step title="If the link no longer works">
    The page says **This gift link is no longer active** — "The sender may have re-sent it to a different address." Only the newest email's link works, so ask for a fresh one.
  </Step>
</Steps>

A locked card also shows the "no longer active" message. If you believe that's a mistake, contact the club.

## Where the card lives afterwards

Your claimed cards sit in the parent portal under **Gift Cards**, grouped by club. Each face shows the amount left and what it can be spent on; click one for its full details and activity.

It's then ready to use: the card appears in **Your gift cards** at that club's checkout.
