# How do I buy a gift card and send it to someone?

> Pick a card on your club's website, set the amount and recipient, and check out — plus how to resend or fix a claim email afterwards.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Gift Cards are available on plans that include **Gift Cards** — if you don't see them on your club's website, the club may not sell them online.
  * **Nothing is sent until your order is paid.** Each gift-card line is one card, so there's no quantity to change.
  * Gift cards aren't taxed, and you can't pay for a gift card with another gift card.
  * Once the recipient claims the card you can no longer change who it went to.
</Note>

Gift cards live on your club's website under **Shop > Gift Cards**.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick a card">
    Click any card in the grid to open it. The live **Preview** shows exactly what the recipient will see.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the amount">
    A fixed-value card can't be changed. A choose-your-amount card shows its minimum (and maximum, if the club set one) and offers **$25 / $50 / \$100** quick picks that fall inside those limits.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose who it's for">
    Under **Who is this for?** pick **For myself** — the card attaches to your own account after payment — or **Send as a gift**, which needs a valid **Recipient email** (**Recipient name** optional) and emails the card to them.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a From name and a note">
    **From** and **Message (optional)** — up to 280 characters — appear on the card face in the recipient's email.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add to cart and check out">
    Click **Add to cart**, then check out as usual. You can reopen a gift card that's already in your cart with **Edit** to change the amount, recipient, or message.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## After you buy

Your parent portal's **Gift Cards** page shows a **Gift cards you sent** section listing each card's recipient, amount, and status.

While a card you sent is still **Pending**, two buttons appear on its row:

* **Resend** — mails the claim link again to the same address.
* **Fix email** — opens **Fix the recipient's email** so you can correct a typo and send it to the right address.

Either way, the older email's link stops working — the newest email is always the one to use. If the card went to the wrong person and they've already claimed it, ask them to transfer it to the right person instead.
