# How do I give someone limited access to one of my athletes?

> Give a grandparent, caregiver or parent in another household limited, revocable access to one athlete without adding them to your family.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * **One athlete, your choices.** Shared access covers one athlete. You choose exactly what the person can see or do, and at which clubs.
  * **Accept within 7 days.** The person must accept the invitation within 7 days, and no access begins until they do.
  * **No waiver signing.** People with Shared access can never sign waivers or consent forms.
  * **Revoking is final.** You can revoke access at any time, but revoked access can't be restored. Send a new invitation if they need access again.
</Note>

**Who it's for.** Guardians in your family can access every athlete in it. Shared access gives someone else, such as a grandparent or caregiver, only what you pick for one athlete, without joining your family.

**Where to find it.** In the family portal, open **Family** (on phones, under **More**) and find the **Shared access** card: "Choose what someone can see or do for an athlete." Only the family owner or a co-manager gets the **Share access** button, and it stays disabled until your family has an athlete.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Share access">
    On the **Shared access** card, choose **Share access**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter their email and pick the athlete">
    Enter the person's **Email address** and choose the **Athlete to share**. For another child, send a second invitation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose what they can access">
    Under **Choose what they can access**, tick the permissions they need. **View profile** and **View schedule** start ticked. Ticking a permission such as **Edit profile** also ticks the view permission it needs.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose their clubs">
    Under **Clubs they can access**, tick **All current and future clubs** or at least one club. Profile and medical information follow the athlete to every club either way.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the invitation">
    Choose **Create invitation**. If the email can't be delivered, copy the link it shows and send it yourself.
  </Step>
</Steps>

**What each group covers.**

| Group | Covers |
| - | - |
| Athlete profile | Personal details and profile |
| Schedule and attendance | Upcoming activities and attendance history |
| Registrations | View, register, or cancel participation |
| Progress | Published evaluations and skills |
| Health and emergency contacts | Shared across the athlete's clubs |
| Documents | Read and upload documents, not sign consent |
| Athlete finances | This family's athlete charges, without private payment methods |
| Communication | Receive updates and contact staff |
| Family benefits | Use family holdings and spend family passes |

**Cancel registrations** lets them cancel the athlete's membership from **Memberships**. Program registrations are cancelled by your club, whoever asks.

**What happens next.** The invitation shows under **Waiting for a response** as "Shared access invitation. Access begins after acceptance." You can **Revoke invitation** while it waits. The person signs in or creates an account with the invited email, reviews the permissions and accepts. If the invitation expires, send a new one.

**What they get.** Only the areas you ticked, at the clubs you chose. Club emails about the athlete reach them only with **Receive updates**, and only for those areas, so they usually get fewer emails than your family's guardians. **Receive updates** also lets the club's coaches message them in chat.

**Review or change access.** Under **People with access**, each row shows "For \[athlete's name]", up to three permissions plus a "+\[number] more" count, the clubs, and **Why they have access**. Choose **Review access** to open **Edit shared access**, change permissions or clubs, then choose **Save changes** (the email and athlete are locked). Other family members see **View all permissions** instead.

**Revoke access.** Access has no end date. Choose the **X** on the row, then **Revoke access** in the **Revoke this access?** box. Access through your family ends immediately; any access they have another way stays.

**If the athlete leaves your family.** The row shows "Access paused until this athlete rejoins the family."
