# How do I create a family account?

> Sign up on your club's website in three steps: enter your email, verify the code, then complete your profile.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Sign-up has three steps: enter your email, type the code emailed to you, then fill in your name, phone, and password.
  * You must confirm you are **18 or older** and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to create the account.
  * The text/SMS-consent checkbox is **optional and separate** from the terms — leaving it unticked will not block sign-up. If you already have an account, no code is sent: an active account gets an email nudging you to **log in**, while an account you were invited to but haven't set up yet has its original invitation resent.
</Note>

You create your family account from your club's own website. Open the club's site and choose **Sign Up**.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Enter your email">
    Type your email address and choose **Send verification code**. A code is emailed to that address.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify the code">
    On the **Check your email** screen, enter the code (for example, `A3K9X2`) and choose **Verify email**. If it doesn't arrive, use **Resend code**, or **Change email** to start over with a different address.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete your account">
    Enter your full name, phone number, and a password (then confirm it). Tick the box confirming you are 18 or older and agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Optionally tick the separate SMS-consent box if you want text messages. Choose **Create Account** — you're signed in automatically.
  </Step>
</Steps>

If you already have an Uplifter account, entering your email won't send a code. When your account is active, you'll get an email telling you to sign in — use **Login** rather than signing up again. If someone invited you to the club (for example, as a co-guardian) but you never finished setting up your account, we'll resend that invitation instead so you can pick up where you left off.
