# How do I accept my invitation and get into the coach portal?

> Open the link in your invitation email, set up or connect your account, and sign in to reach the coach portal.

  **Must know**

  * **The link works for 7 days.** After that, ask your club's administrator to send a new one.
  * **New staff confirm they are 18 or older and accept the terms** before they can join.
  * **Open the link in the invitation email.** Signing in with Google or Microsoft first only sends you back to that email.

**Where to start.** Open the link in your invitation email. The page depends on whether you already have an Uplifter account.

    Enter **Password (required)**, **Confirm Password (required)** and **Phone Number (required)**.

    Tick **I confirm that I am 18 years of age or older.** and, separately, **I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.** The text-message checkbox is optional.

  <Step title="Select Create Account & Join">
    The button stays greyed out until everything is filled in and ticked. You're signed in and see **Welcome!** with the address you sign in at from now on. If automatic sign-in fails, **Account Created!** offers **Go to Login**.

**Already have an account.** Your email asks you to join with the account you already have. The **Join \[club name]** page shows the invited email, plus the 18+ and terms checkboxes if you haven't given them before. Select **Accept Invitation**, then sign in as usual.

**If the link doesn't work.** The page is headed **This link is out of date** or **Invitation Error** and gives the reason:

| "This invitation has already been accepted" or "You already have an account. Sign in." | Select **Go to Login**. |
| "A newer invitation was sent to this address. Open the latest email from Uplifter." | Open the newest email. |
| "This invitation has expired. Please contact the administrator for a new invitation." | Ask your club's administrator for a new one. |
| "This invitation has been cancelled" | Ask your club's administrator. |

**If you pressed Google or Microsoft first.** You see **You have an invitation waiting**. Open the link in your invitation email. Can't find it? Check spam, or go back to sign-in, choose **Email Code** and enter your address to have the invitation sent again.

**Why you confirm your age.** A new staff account confirms once that it is 18 or older, separately from the terms. Until then it has no coach access at any club. If yours hasn't, you stop once at sign-in on **One more thing**: tick the 18+ box (and the terms box, if shown) and select **Confirm and Continue** to carry on where you were heading.

**Where you land.** Staff whose role is **Coach** and who have **Access Coach Portal** (the Coach role includes it) open the coach portal at sign-in. Other staff roles open the admin dashboard, where **Coach Portal** in the sidebar takes you across if you have coach access. Seeing **Choose an organization**?
