# What is overtime and gross pay on my timesheet?

> The Regular, Overtime, Hourly Rate, and Gross Pay figures on your timesheet, and how overtime is worked out.

  * Overtime is worked out from the daily and weekly thresholds and the multiplier your gym configures.
  * **Hourly Rate** and **Gross Pay** only appear once a rate is set for you, and they snapshot at approval.
  * Unpaid segments — like unpaid breaks — don't earn pay.

Open **View details** on your timesheet to see the pay figures for the period:

* **Total Hours** — all the time you clocked into work segments (breaks aren't included). The **regular / overtime** split shows just beneath it: regular hours at your standard rate, overtime at the overtime rate.
* **Hourly Rate** — the standard rate on record for you (shown as a dash until one is set).
* **Gross Pay** — your estimated pay for the period before any deductions.

**How overtime is derived.** Your gym sets overtime rules — a daily threshold, a weekly threshold, and a multiplier. Paid hours beyond a threshold count as overtime; the rest are regular. Daily and weekly overtime don't stack on the same hours, so you're credited the greater of the two rather than both. Overtime is figured on worked time only, so paid breaks are always paid at the straight rate.

**How gross pay is figured.** Regular hours are paid at your hourly rate and overtime hours at that rate times the multiplier, then added together. Because unpaid segments don't earn pay, an unpaid break lengthens your day without adding to your pay.

Both **Hourly Rate** and **Gross Pay** are captured at the moment a manager approves the timesheet, so they reflect the rate in effect then. If no rate has been set for you yet, gross pay stays blank until one is.
