# How do I mark an athlete's level complete from an evaluation?

> Complete an athlete's level from the Levels box on a recorded evaluation, including when the athlete missed the rule.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * **Where it shows.** **Mark level complete** appears only for a level the athlete currently holds that the report card, or one of its sections, is linked to. Most evaluations show none.
  * **Missed rule.** If the athlete missed the rule, you're asked to confirm, and you can still record the level.
  * **Next level.** If your club set a **Next level**, completing a level starts the next one automatically.
  * **Undo.** You can't undo a completion in the coach portal. Staff with **Edit Athletes** can, from the athlete's **Levels** tab in the admin dashboard.
</Note>

**Before you start.** You need the **Record Evaluations** permission and a club plan that includes Training.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the batch">
    From **Evaluations**, tap the batch. The **Levels** box sits under each athlete's results, and is hidden while you edit.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find the athlete's Levels box">
    It lists each linked level the athlete holds, with a section badge for section links. **Rule not met** means the athlete missed that rule on this evaluation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tap Mark level complete">
    If the rule was met, the level is recorded at once. If you see **Rule not met**, a dialog asks **Mark \[level] complete?** and names the rule the athlete missed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm if asked">
    Tap **Mark complete** to record it anyway, or **Cancel** to back out.
  </Step>
</Steps>

**What happens next.** You see "\[level] marked complete." and the level leaves the box. The completion is dated the evaluation's date, not the day you tap. If it can't be recorded, a message says why (or "Couldn't complete the level.") and the level stays in the box.

**Next level.** If your club set one, the athlete starts it automatically, one step only. It's skipped if the athlete already has that level or hasn't earned the achievements it requires.

**Need to undo it?** Ask someone with **Edit Athletes** access (office staff, or you if your role has it). On the athlete's **Levels** tab, they open **Completed levels** and tap **Reactivate**. Reactivate doesn't remove a Next level that started automatically: they remove that one with **Revoke level**.

**Setup.** Staff link a level with **Level (optional)** under **Settings > Training > Evaluation Templates**, and set **Next level (optional)** under **Settings > Training > Levels**.
