# How do I find an athlete in the coach portal?

> Search and browse the coach Athletes list, switching between My athletes and All athletes.

  **Must know**

  * The list opens on **My athletes** — athletes in the programs you coach, whether enrolled or registered for one of its individual sessions (like drop-ins). Switch to **All athletes** to see everyone in the organization.
  * The coach portal is scoped to your single active organization, so you only ever see that org's athletes.
  * Search matches an athlete's first or last name — there's no email search.

Use the **Athletes** tab in the coach portal to look up anyone you need — whether they're in your class or somewhere else in the gym.

  <Step title="Open Athletes">
    Tap **Athletes** in the coach navigation. The count at the top shows how many athletes match your current view.

  <Step title="Choose which athletes to see">
    Use the dropdown on the right to switch between **My athletes** (athletes enrolled in a program you coach, or registered for one of its individual sessions — like drop-ins) and **All athletes** (everyone in your organization). If you don't coach any programs yet, the list starts on **All athletes**.

  <Step title="Search by name">
    Type into **Search athletes by name or email…**. Despite the placeholder, search only matches an athlete's first or last name, and the list updates a moment after you stop typing. Each row shows the athlete's level and programs.

  <Step title="Open a profile">
    Tap any athlete row to open their profile. The list keeps loading more athletes automatically as you scroll, so you don't need to page through them.

If nothing matches, the empty state tells you whether it's your search or the current view — switching to **All athletes** widens the results to the whole org.
