# How do I list my club in the Find your club directory?

> Use the Directory listing card on Settings > Website > General to control how your club appears on uplifter.app's Find your club directory.

  **Must know**

  * **Listing follows publishing.** Your club shows on uplifter.app's Find your club directory while your website is published and **Listed in the directory** is on (it's on by default).
  * **Two ways of saving.** **Listed in the directory**, **Tagline** (up to 120 characters) and **Description** (up to 600) save with **Save Changes**. **Organization kind** and each location switch save instantly.
  * **Families register on your website.** The directory's **Register** (or **View programs**) and **Visit website** buttons open your club website.

**Where to find it.** The **Directory listing** card is on **Settings > Website > General**. **View the directory** opens it. Changes need the **Edit Settings** permission.

**When you're listed.** An active club is listed once it has an **Uplifter Subdomain**, a published website and **Listed in the directory** on. The directory has no payment check, but **Go Live** does. Unpublishing removes your club.

    Until you [go live](/club/website-store/publish-your-website), **Listed in the directory** is disabled and reads "Publish your site to appear in the directory."

  <Step title="Write your Tagline and Description">
    **Tagline** is a short line families see on your club page. **Description** says what families should know. Counters show the characters used. Click **Save Changes**.

  <Step title="Pick your Organization kind">
    Choose **Club**, **Provincial or state body**, **National body**, **School or camp**, **Community association** or **Other**. It saves instantly.

  <Step title="Choose your Locations">
    Each active location is listed by name, with its city and state or province (or "No address on file") and a switch that starts on and saves instantly. With no active locations, the card reads "Add a location in Facility settings to show it on your directory card."

  <Step title="Check the Preview">
    **Preview** shows your card as families see it, unsaved edits included, with **Listed** or **Not listed** and the reason.

**If the preview says Not listed.**

| Reason shown | What to do |
| - | - |
| Set up a subdomain in Domain Settings above. | Enter an **Uplifter Subdomain**, then **Save Changes**. |
| Publish your site to appear in the directory. | Click **Go Live**. |
| Turn on "Listed in the directory" above. | Turn it on, then **Save Changes**. |

**What families see.** Families search uplifter.app by club name, city or sport, or near a postal code, and filter by **Sport**, **Place** and **Type**. Your result shows your logo, name, location and sports, plus **Register** while a program is open for registration. Your club's name opens its club page on the directory, with your tagline, description and locations. No account is needed. Your [sports](/club/get-set-up/choose-sports-offered) drive the **Sport** filter, and **Organization kind** drives **Type**.
