# How do I schedule holiday closures?

> Create closures that stop sessions being generated on closed days, org-wide or scoped.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Closures live in **Settings → Registration Setup → Holidays**. A closure is a date range within a single calendar year — leave the end date blank for a one-day closure.
  * A closure can apply to your **entire gym** or be scoped to specific categories and/or programs. Programs in scope won't generate sessions on the closed days.
  * Affected families get a closure email (whole-gym closures also notify staff). You can re-add an individual missing session per date afterward.
</Note>

Use closures for breaks, holidays, and gym-wide days off so your calendar and billing stay accurate.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Holidays page">
    Go to **Settings → Registration Setup → Holidays** and click **Add Closure** to open the dialog. The year tabs let you manage each year separately.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name it and set the dates">
    Enter a **Name** (for example, "Winter Break"), a **Start date**, and an optional **End date**. Leave the end blank for a single day.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose who it affects">
    Leave **Apply to entire gym** on to close everything, or turn it off and pick the **Categories** and/or **Programs** the closure applies to.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the closure">
    Click **Add Closure**. The closure is created and turned on right away, and you'll see a confirmation that it was added — there's no separate session-preview step at creation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review or undo the affected sessions">
    To see or reverse which sessions a closure affects, use the **Enabled** switch on its row in the table. Turning it on lists the sessions it will cancel; turning it off lists the missing sessions you can re-add per date.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Because suppression is program-aware, a scoped closure only touches the categories and programs you name — everything else keeps running.
