# Can I change a program's registration style after athletes register?

> Yes: every registration style stays selectable, and a dialog handles registered athletes, new prices and refunds when a switch takes something away.

  **Must know**

  * **Yes, any time.** Every style stays selectable. A switch that affects registered athletes or needs a new price opens a dialog that saves the change itself.
  * **You decide who stays.** Keep affected athletes registered or remove them, and choose a refund: none, full, or set per family.
  * **Some settings are cleared.** Switching can clear the drop-in price, the rate card or the payment plan.
  * **Families aren't emailed by default.** The removal email starts turned off; turn it on in notification settings if you want families told.

**Where to find it.** In **Registrations > Programs**, open **Configure** (**General** tab) or **Edit step-by-step** (**General** step) for **Registration Style**. All three styles, **Enroll in entire program**, **Sign up per class**, **Full & Drop-in**, stay selectable, and the current one shows what's booked: "12 athletes enrolled" or "4 athletes signed up for classes".

**When the dialog opens.** On a saved program, a switch that takes something away from registered athletes or needs a new price opens **Change to "\[style]"** (switching to **Full & Drop-in** always opens it, to collect a drop-in price). The dialog saves the change itself, separate from **Save Changes**. In the create wizard, style is a plain choice.

  <Step title="Decide who stays">
    Choose **Keep \[N] athletes registered** (keeping every class; nobody new can register that way) or **Remove them from the program**. Removing whole-program enrollees asks for a **Last day they attend**, then they come off the roster. Per-class or drop-in athletes lose only upcoming classes. If anyone removed owes plan payments, **Also cancel what they still owe** writes them off. Otherwise they stay owed, except where classes were lost. Tick each warning under **Before you continue**, then click **Continue**.

  <Step title="Set the price and the waitlist">
    Appears when the new style needs a price or families are waitlisted. Enter the price: **Price for the whole program**, **Price per class** or **Drop-in price per class**. 0 is accepted; blank is not. For waitlisted families, choose **Keep them on the waitlist** or **Take them off the waitlist**, and where the new style still sells the whole program, **Charge what they were quoted** or **Charge the new price**.

  <Step title="Choose a refund">
    Appears only when you remove athletes or stop families' repeating payments. Pick **No refunds**, **Refund each family everything they have paid for this program** (no proration) or **Set each family's refund yourself**, then a **Refund to** destination.

    Click **Change registration style**. "Registration style changed" confirms it.

**What the switch clears.** Leaving **Full & Drop-in** clears the drop-in price. Switching to **Sign up per class** removes the rate card (families' rate-card amounts recalculate without this program) and needs a **Price per class**. Payment plans turn off on any style except **Enroll in entire program**.

**Permissions and limits.** You need the same permission as editing a program, and it also covers the refunds. One change can touch at most 150 athletes.

**Telling families.** The **Program Change Removal** email starts turned off. To email guardians when their athlete's spot ends, turn it on in **Settings > Communication > Notifications**.
