# How do I create and design a gift card to sell?

> Every field in the New gift card dialog — name, image, pricing, restrictions, and the Transferable / Available online / Active switches.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Gift Cards are available on plans that include **Gift Cards** — if you don't see them in your dashboard, ask your Uplifter contact. The catalog lives inside **Store**, so the sidebar link appears only when your plan includes both.
  * **Name** is required (100 characters max). The **Card image** is optional — without one the card face renders as a gradient.
  * Any single amount is capped at **$10,000**. On a "Buyer chooses amount" card, leaving **Maximum** blank falls back to a **$1,000** ceiling.
  * Editing a design never changes cards already issued from it — each card snapshotted its name, image, and restrictions at issue time.
</Note>

Open **Store > Gift Cards** and click **New gift card**.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Name it and add a card image">
    Fill in **Name** and optionally upload a **Card image**. The **Preview** on the right updates live, showing the card face families see.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the pricing">
    Choose **Fixed amount** (one preset value) or **Buyer chooses amount** (**Minimum** required, **Maximum (optional)**).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose what it's redeemable on">
    Under **Redeemable on**, tick nothing to let the card be spent on anything. Or tick **Programs**, **Memberships**, **Passes**, or **Store items** to restrict it, then use **Limit to specific …** to pin individual items (up to 20 pins per card). A pin only sticks to a ticked category — otherwise it's rejected with "This restriction isn't in the selected scope". A category your plan doesn't include is hidden unless it's already selected.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the three switches">
    **Transferable** — "Recipients can re-gift this card to someone else." **Available online** — "Customers can buy this on your website. Off = staff can still issue or sell it at the POS." **Active** is the master switch: "off hides this card everywhere, including from staff."
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create it">
    Click **Create gift card**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Managing the catalog

The catalog has a card view and a table view (**Gift card**, **Pricing**, **Scope**, **Transferable**, **Online**, **Cards issued**, **Active**). The table shows 25 rows per page with a search box and an Active/Inactive filter.

Each card's **···** menu offers **Edit**, **Duplicate**, and **Delete**. **Duplicate** creates "\[name] (copy)" and leaves it inactive so you can adjust it before publishing.
