# How do I get verified to accept payments?

> Start payment verification, provide your business details on the secure hosted page, and track your status.

  **Must know**

  * Verification is completed on a **secure hosted page** that collects your business details, identity documents, and bank account.
  * Review usually takes **1-2 business days** — you can check your status any time and don't have to wait on the page.
  * You must set up payments before you can publish your public site.

You can start from the first-run go-live checklist ("Set up payments") or later from **Settings → Financials → Payment Onboarding**.

  <Step title="Begin onboarding">
    From **Settings → Financials → Payment Onboarding**, the **Get Started with Payment Processing** card offers **Begin Onboarding** (or **Continue Onboarding** if you've already started). Starting instead from the go-live checklist skips that card and drops you straight into the steps. Either way, you'll step through confirming your organization details, your legal business name, the platform fee, and Uplifter's Terms of Service, then reach a review screen.

  <Step title="Complete verification on the secure page">
    On the review screen, select **Begin Verification** to open the secure verification page. There you provide your business details, identity documents, and bank account information, then you're returned to Uplifter. (If you leave partway through, you'll later see **Continue to Adyen** to pick up where you left off.)

  <Step title="Wait for review">
    Your status shows **Verification In Progress** while your details are reviewed — typically 1-2 business days. On the **Payment Onboarding** page the status refreshes on its own; you can also select **Check Status**, and it's safe to leave and come back.

Once you're verified, Uplifter finishes creating your payout account automatically — you just add a bank account to start receiving payouts. See [How do I finalize payments and get paid out?](/club/get-set-up/finalize-payments-and-payouts).
