# How do I publish a competition to my website?

> Make a competition public with Live status and set the competitions page heading and copy.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Available on plans that include **Competitions** (defaults off) — if you don't see it, ask your Uplifter contact.
  * Only competitions set to **Live** appear on your public site. A **Draft** stays hidden.
  * The Competitions page also has to be turned on for your site (see the toggle below) before visitors can find it.
</Note>

Two things make a competition visible: the competition's own publish status, and your site's Competitions page.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Set the competition to Live">
    In the competition builder (or when editing), set the publish status to **Live**. A Draft never shows on the public site; a Live competition appears on your Competitions page with a Register button.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn on and style the Competitions page">
    Go to **Settings → Website → Competitions**. Switch on **Show Competitions Page** to add the page and its nav link to your public site. Then set the **Section Heading** and **Section Description**. Each Live competition shows a **Register** button on the public page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save Changes**. Your Live competitions now appear on the styled page.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The status badge on your competition list reflects where each one stands — Draft, Scheduled, Live, Closed, or Completed — so you can see at a glance what's public.
