# How do I review and approve booking reservations?

> Turn on the approval workflow and approve or reject reservations from the booking detail page.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Available on plans that include **Bookings** (defaults off) — if you don't see it, ask your Uplifter contact.
  * With approval turned on, reservations start as **Pending Approval** and hold no slot until you approve them.
  * Members can't reschedule or edit a reservation — as an admin you can only **approve** or **reject** it. A rejected reservation is marked **Cancelled**, which is final.
</Note>

Turn on **Require Approval** on the booking's **General** step — the same step whether you're creating a booking or editing an existing one. From then on, new reservations wait for your review instead of confirming instantly.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Spot pending reservations">
    A pending-approval count badge appears in the sidebar next to Bookings. It reflects the count from when the dashboard last loaded, so after you approve or reject a reservation it updates on your next full page load rather than instantly.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the booking">
    Go to **Registrations → Bookings** and open the booking. Its detail page lists **Pending** and **Confirmed** reservations, each showing the date, time, and who submitted it — plus the attendee count when a reservation is for more than one person.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Approve or reject">
    Click **Approve** to confirm a pending reservation — Uplifter re-checks capacity under a lock before confirming, so an approval can't push a slot over its cap. Click **Reject** instead if the slot can't be honored.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Because pending reservations hold no slot, approving is what actually reserves the time. If the slot filled up while a reservation was pending, the capacity re-check on approval will stop you from over-booking — reject that reservation and let the member know.
