# How do I see which families my email no longer reaches?

> Use the Suppression List to see every guardian your club's email no longer reaches, why, and turn their email back on or off.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * **Settings > Communication > Suppression List** shows every guardian your email no longer reaches, with the reason and how it happened.
  * **Only Uplifter support can clear a bounce or spam-complaint block.** Ask the family for a working address instead.
  * **Unsubscribed is not blocked.** Unsubscribed guardians still get receipts, invoices and payment notices, but a blocked address gets nothing.
  * **If a guardian unsubscribed themselves,** only turn their email back on when they ask you to.
</Note>

**Where to find it.** Go to **Settings > Communication > Suppression List**. Viewing and exporting need the **View Families** permission. Turning email on or off needs **Edit Families**.

**What each row shows.** The guardian, a status, and the last change: its source (**Unsubscribe link**, **Guardian's own settings**, **Staff**, **Bounce or spam report**, **Data import** or **Not recorded**), who made it and when.

| Status | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Spam complaint** | The address marked an email as spam. Blocked. |
| **Bounced** | Email to the address bounced permanently. Blocked. |
| **Blocked** | An older bounce or spam block with no recorded reason. |
| **Unsubscribed** | Turned off at your club by the guardian, staff or an import. |
| **Delivery issues** | Repeated temporary bounces at your club, on messages never later delivered. Information only: email keeps sending. |

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find a guardian">
    Use **Search by name or email...**, or click **Filters** to narrow by **Status** or **Source**. Switch between **Table** and **Cards** views.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn one guardian's email back on">
    In the row's menu, click **Turn email back on** (offered only when the guardian is unsubscribed and not blocked). If they unsubscribed themselves, **This guardian unsubscribed themselves** appears first. Click **Enable anyway** only if they asked. **Open guardian** opens their account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Change several at once">
    Tick rows, click **Resubscribe selected** or **Unsubscribe selected**, and confirm with **Turn it back on** or **Turn it off**. Only rows ticked on this page change. When you resubscribe, blocked guardians are skipped and a message says how many.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn email off for someone who asked">
    Click **Add guardian**, search for the guardian in **Add a guardian**, and click **Turn email off**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Export the list">
    **Export** downloads the whole filtered list as a CSV, up to 10,000 rows. Past that, the message says how many it exported, so narrow your filters for the rest.
  </Step>
</Steps>

**Blocked addresses.** A block stops every email to that address, receipts included, even when the block was earned at another club. A blocked row's menu says only Uplifter support can clear it. Ask the family for a working address and update their profile.

**What "email off" stops.** Every email campaign, emails from notification rules you created, and closure notices. Receipts, invoices, payment notices and other built-in emails still send. Texts are separate.

**Source filters only see your club.** A source filter only matches changes recorded at your club, so a block earned at another club drops out. Filter by **Status** instead.

**An empty list.** With no filters and nobody on the list, the page reads **No one is suppressed**.
