# How do I pause, cancel, or remove an enrollment?

> Change an athlete's program enrollment state or remove it from their Programs tab.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * From this menu you set an enrollment to **Active, Paused, Completed, or Cancelled**.
  * Waitlisted enrollments can also appear in this list (with a generic status badge); there's no **Pause** action for them, since Pause applies only to active enrollments.
  * **Remove deletes the enrollment record entirely** — that's different from **Cancel**, which keeps a Cancelled record for your history.

Manage an athlete's existing enrollments from their profile. (The same enrollments can also be managed from the program's own Athletes tab — this article covers managing them from the athlete's side.)

  <Step title="Open the Programs tab">
    Open the athlete's profile and go to the **Programs** tab. Each enrollment shows its current status.

  <Step title="Open the enrollment menu">
    Click the **⋯** menu on the enrollment row.

  <Step title="Change the state or remove it">
    Choose the action you need:

    * **Set Active** — reactivate a paused or cancelled enrollment.
    * **Pause** — temporarily hold an active enrollment.
    * **Mark Complete** — mark the enrollment as finished.
    * **Cancel Enrollment** — end it while keeping a Cancelled record.
    * **Remove** — permanently delete the enrollment record.

The summary cards at the top of the tab (Active, Paused, Completed, Total) update as you change enrollments. Use **Cancel Enrollment** when you want a record that the athlete was enrolled but stopped; use **Remove** only when you want the enrollment gone entirely.
